In ancient Greece, city states and people called out to society through democracy. Democracy in Athens aims to bring benefits to people through justice. Unfortunately, this does not always happen. In Hercula, practice of democracy contradicts its basic principle. The degree of justice a person can obtain depends largely on their position in Greek society. In many cases, as the Odysseus suggested to sacrifice Achilles' grave, military voting will benefit the fewest affected people.
"Fanmi Lavalas has obvious weaknesses and limitations," Brian Concanon, Haitian Justice and Democrat Institute Director, said after the election. "But most of the reasons are explained by the destruction and overthrow of the Lavalese government, we can not prove how democracy works and are killing, imprisoning and expelling important leaders" After the annual dictatorship, we promised to restore democracy in Haiti. That leader, the liberation theologist Aristide, publicly opposed Duvalier and in 1990 won the first democratic election in Haiti. But in a few months of his term, the old order expelled the President of those who were forced to exile. Members of the military and dictatorship suppressed people, formed death rows to eliminate the mass movements that were threatening their rule, killed thousands. In 1995, Haiti wanted to disband the army and to prevent further coup.
In the face of increased inequality and exclusion, Haiti clearly reminds people of vulnerability of election democracy. After the collapse of Duvalier dictatorship in 1986, the vast majority of Haiti's poor people finished the election, but the cycle seems to have collapsed. Today, Haiti is the world's lowest in terms of voter participation. Why do the Haitians lose confidence in election democracy? Of course, the influence of foreign intervention, the repressive limitation of neoliberalism, and the factor of economic stability against democracy have all played a role. The disappointment and betrayal of political leaders who tilted to the left, which consisted of Haiti's former powerful popular movements only exacerbate this indifference.
