A new type of large cockroach has been discovered and is immediately listed as the most endangered species in the world.
For decades, environmentalists knew that orangutan curious groups were living in the forest of Batangche in North Sumatra, Indonesia, but until recently it has been found that comparing with other ticks I could not do it.
However, after discovering the pheasant body, cardiff university experts were able to study its characteristics and DNA to determine which species it belongs to.
To my surprise, they were brand new, named Pongo Tapanuliensis, or Tapanuli Orangutan, a new monkey discovered for the first time this century.
So far, in 1996 it was divided into two species, Sumatra and Borneo orangutan, gorillas in East and West, chimpanzees and bonobos. This new discovery reported in Contemporary Biology has resulted in a total of seven people.
But below 800 people, this new species is now considered the most endangered giant on Earth, and people are concerned that it will die in the life of the discoverer. In addition to captured meat, ticks are also threatened by the proposed hydropower dam.
Dr. Benoit Goossens of Cardiff University of Bioscience, says,
"Our efforts to protect our forests are extremely important unless we take the necessary measures to protect Tau Nono orangutans, and we will see that they will be found and disappear in their lifetime You can see."
The new species lived in the south of the known range of Sumatra orangutan, and there was rumor that the area had abnormal forces, but the population was not recorded until 1997.
Later research showed that the group is different from Sumatra orangutan, but it is not clear whether they represent a new species.
A breakthrough took place in 2013 when the research team got a cockroach belonging to Batang Toru orangutan that was killed by human beings. Long-term animal studies reveal important differences between their skull and teeth
"Gorilla is one of the most studied species in the world," said Dr. Erik Meijaard of the Australian National University who also participated in this study.
"Even after serious biological research over 200 years, if there is a possibility that new species will still be found in this group, it will tell you about all the other things we ignore.
"Although humans are conducting a wide range of global experiments, we can hardly understand what impact this influences, and how does it destroy our own survival "
Genetic studies showed that the last common ancestor of three orangutan species divide more than 3 million years ago
Mr. Alexander Nator of the University of Zurich said, "Batanglor orangutan is thought to be the direct descendant of the original orangutan that migrated from the Asian continent."
The combination of genetic, anatomical and ecological data convinced researchers that Pongo tapanuliensis is named after its Tapanuli area and is different from the two accepted orangutan species. Protectiveists hope to find new varieties that were discovered for the first time since Bonobos in 1929 and help to raise awareness of orangutan's plight. Both of these existing species are in danger of extinction and the new species will soon exceed them to become one of the most endangered anthropoids in the world. Mr. Russell Mittermeier, Executive Vice President of Arlington Conservation International, Virginia, predicted "It will be possible to communicate primate conservation information in a primary way" by this discovery.
An endangered species is a species that is classified as highly likely to become extinct. Endangered (EN), which is classified in the Red List of the International Conservation Union for Nature Conservation (IUCN), is the second most serious wildlife conservation protection status in the IUCN model after extreme danger (CR). The state preservation shows the possibility that it will be extinct. There are a number of factors to consider when evaluating species conservation status; for example, statistics such as residual quantity, overall increase or decrease in long-term population, success of breeding, known threats. The endangered species IUCN Red List is the list of the most famous protection status and ranking system in the world.
