The Internet is the global system of the Internet that serves billions of users all over the world. These millions of Internet networks, including public, private, government, academic and commercial networks, occupy about 903, 909, 315 hosts. Cisco also estimates that by the year 2015 each will connect 47 devices, resulting in approximately 25 billion devices being connected to the Internet. The Internet is constantly evolving, mainly because people are increasingly dependent on the Internet.

In this era, any form of unencrypted communication is a major security risk. Especially when talking about services used on almost all computers around the world today, such as network time protocol. Hackers can reset device clocks and dates remotely, potentially causing catastrophic events to companies and users around the world. Imagine the following scenario; a hacker tries to communicate with and receive a host computer that is updated periodically using an unencrypted network time protocol. If a hacker wishes, he can transfer the time and date several years ago. Doing so will prevent the system from receiving updates and will be vulnerable to attacks. For individual users this is not considered a big threat, but the situation will change dramatically when the company is targeted.

Another security threat is imminent to the Internet and Bitcoin users all over the world. The network time protocol is often used to make it easier for internal clocks of electronic devices to be synchronized and tampered correctly. Considering that communication between the device and the network time protocol is rarely encrypted, intermediary attacks are highly likely.
