My hero is Neil Alden Armstrong. He is an American astronaut. He is the first person to walk on the moon.

Born in Wapakoneta, Ohio on August 5, 1930, love for Armstrong's plane and flight began in his childhood.

In 1947 Armstrong received a US Navy scholarship and entered Purdue University for aeronautical engineering studies. But only a year and a half later, the US Navy called him to be on duty, he became a naval pilot. In 1950, he was sent to South Korea, where he carried out 78 combat missions during the Korean War. He won three medals with his excellent service. In 1952, Armstrong returned to Purdue University to complete his research.

In 1955, Armstrong became a research pilot of the National Air Advisory Committee (now known as the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)). In 1962 he became an astronaut. He was a command pilot of the Gemini Eighth Duty launched in 1966. Under the direction of the co-pilot David Scott, he successfully docked the two spacecraft for the first time. It is important as it is a step that people need to learn before being sent to the moon.

Armstrong is Apollo 11, commander of a manned assignment to the first month in history. He worked hard during the preparatory period. On July 20, 1969, he created history and became the first person to land on the moon and the first person to step in on the surface. After stepping on the moon, his first sentence became the most famous sentence of the 20th century: "For men, this is a small step and a great leap for man."

From the beginning, people wanted to look up at the moon and go there. Armstrong is the first person who realized this dream for all of us.

Armstrong resigned from NASA in 1971 and became a professor of aerospace engineering. He is also an active consultant for private companies and serves as a director of several companies.

Neil has become Ohio State Government. My family lived in several communities such as Warren, Ravenna, Jefferson, Upper Sandusky, St Marys and my family decided to settle in the birthplace of Wapa Community, Neil.
