The US Navy was founded on 13th October 1775 and the Navy was founded in 1798. The Navy's mission is "to fight, to win the war, to prevent invasion, to maintain, train and equip the navy to maintain the freedom of the sea". It includes aviation, ground battles, nuclear submarines, special forces and support services.

Today, about 326,000 crews are working in the US Navy, and there are an additional 110,000 reserve soldiers.

The history of the US Navy is largely divided into two eras. It is the result of the modernization of the modern navy, a small but respected yacht known for its innovative armor during the American Civil War. In the 1880s, it became the world's largest in the 1920s.
