The First World War changed the naval battle forever. The big irony of the First World War was that there was no truly decisive naval battle, but the maritime power of the German naval blockade was one of the decisive factors in the outcome of the war. The Jewish election tendency hesitant to heed in 1916 was the first in history and was a major confrontation between the last two modern battleship fleets. When the HMS dreadnought was released in 1906, it quickly made all other battleships of the world obsolete. However, by 1918, the fearless battleship itself became obsolete.

An important part of naval battle, and the movement of submarines launched by Germany, was a blockade in the UK to weaken the economy of Germany and thereby weaken its efforts of war. Navy blockade was the main factor of Germany's defeat in the First World War. However, the possibility was questioned in the years before the war. One problem is that naval officials are not confident of the traditional close shielding of enemy coasts due to technological innovations like torpedoes. A blocked country may be able to break the blockade by using a small ship equipped with these weapons. In addition, improvements to coastal guns, landmines and submarines may cause blockers to be destroyed. Another problem is international law that protects the right to neutrality at sea. By 1914 these laws weakened the traditional blockade of the British navy. In this type of deal, the responsibility for certifying the destination is not neutral but in the UK.
