Natural Disasters- Hurricanes

Hurricane hurricane occurs at various times around the world, but usually occurs at the end of June 1 and November. However, in late August 2005, a devastating hurricane occurred. This is Hurricane Katrina. With winds exceeding 100 miles per hour, it has become the fifth category of Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale. And it is said to have caused billions of dollars of damage. Hurricane Katrina attacked about 40,000 families and killed at least 2,000 people ("Hurricane").

In the past few centuries, hurricane natural disasters had a major impact on the surrounding land. It can cost hundreds of millions of dollars, even billions of dollars to repair hurricane damage. These natural disasters not only cause property damage but also cause many people to die and injure. Most of what we call natural disasters (tornadoes, droughts, hurricanes) is actually natural, but human contribution may increase its potential and strength. But they are not disasters - it is dangerous. Even if a hurricane hits a land where no one lives, it is not a disaster but the weather. A disaster is a natural disaster that matches the population. Usually this intersection is far from natural. If Houston's community is found to be most vulnerable to hurricane Harvey, most damage is not only predictable but also predicted. In 2016, ProPublica announced a detailed article explaining that lack of plans could make urban residents very vulnerable to hurricanes. The city permitted the entire block to emerge in areas where the Army Corps of Engineers knew that it would flood during the heavy rain. The 1996 report urged Harris County with Houston to take measures to mitigate the risk. It will be ignored. Harvey is a strong weather phenomenon.

A few months ago, I wrote an article about Hurricane Harvey. It highlighted the poor sufferings in natural disasters. After that, forest fires, typhoons, and more hurricanes occurred, and again troublesome problems occurred. It is well understood that these disasters are exacerbated by climate change. Probably against the intuition, the increase in disasters is directed at people with weakness and vulnerability. Millionaires' families burn the same things, but they only have money for new homes and luxury bunkers.
