Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, born at Enugu in Nigeria on September 15, 1977, is the fifth child of the six children of Igbo's parents, Grace Ifeoma and James Nwoye Adichie. The family's ancestor's house was Abba of Anambra, but Chimamanda grew up in a house previously occupied by Nsukka, Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe. Chimamanda's father is now retiring and working at the University of Nigeria in Nukka. He became the first professor of statistics in Nigeria and later became the vice president of the university. Her mother is the first female registration agency at the same institution.
Let's start from the beginning. Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie was born in 1977 in Nigeria and went to America to learn communication and politics at the age of 19. It was here that she began to polish her voice as a writer and activist as she had many new experiences in the new environment. Due to the color of the skin, she began to realize how she was judged, never experienced in Nigeria. She started thinking about race as an idea in an unprecedented way.
A few years ago, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie received a letter from a childhood friend who wanted to know how to raise her girls baby as a feminist. Dear Ijeawele is a letter of Adichie's reply: 15 precious suggestions - direct, irony, funny, insightful - how to make a daughter strong and independent woman. Filled with caring guidance and advice, it adapts to the center of sexual politics in the 21st century and begins a new, urgently needed dialogue on the real meaning of being a woman today.
