The reputation that Napoleon did not rule the rulers of Europe came from his subjects, his territory and his change to the surrounding land. Napoleon Bonaparte held power during the French Revolution. Not only did it bring about a major change in France, it also brought major changes to other European countries. His domestic and foreign policy is not always successful, but his ability to rule is undeniable. From the rise of his power and from French reform to his military defeat in Russia, Napoleon succeeded in obtaining considerable power and control.
Napoleon was a "clear failure" for France and other European countries. When he appeared at the doorway, France was isolated, beaten, occupied, dominated, hated and smaller than before. More importantly, Napoleon killed the liberation force raised by the French and American Revolutionary War, allowing for the survival and recovery of the monarchy.
After defeating the Austrians and the Russians in the fight of the Austerritz, Napoleon became the master of most of Europe in 1805. For several years, Napoleon and France ruled Europe and only Britain continued to oppose Bonaparte's ambitions. Napoleon invaded the Russian empire and decided to force the emperor to participate in the trade embargo against the UK. The French army entered into Russia and occupied Moscow, but it collapsed in a terrible winter in Russia. Napoleon retreated to Europe and in the process lost most of his troops. After the invasion of Russia, the French Empire severely weakened, eventually the allies (UK, Russia, Austria, Prussia) entered France and abolished Napoleon and restored the Bourbon monarchy. Napoleon was placed on Elba Island in 1814.
In Belgium's bloody battlefield, Wellington stopped the relentless pursuit of European rule of Napoleon and ensured that the UK plays an important role in Europe. Napoleon was expelled to St. Helena, where he died in 1821. Wellington is a hero. He signed a peace agreement with France and became prime minister in 1828. Now Europe has achieved peace.
From 1804 to 1813, after France promoted France to rule over Europe, Napoleon was defeated in 1814 by a large federation, in particular Prussia, Russia, the UK and Austria. While Louis XVI became a ruler of France, Napoleon was later abandoned and exiled to Elba Island. In September 1814, the Vienna Conference met with representatives from most European countries to discuss the problems caused by French failures. However, on February 26, 1815, Napoleon escaped from Elba Island and returned to France in the National Assembly.
