Nallur Kandaswamy Kovil or Nallur Murugan Kovil (kovil is a Tamil temple) is one of the most important Hindu temples in the Jaffna district of Sri Lanka. It is in the town of Nallur. The Naru festival held in Jaffna in August is the longest festival on the island. God of tanks, 25-day tanks commemorating Scanda, drumming, dancing, and battle of self-destruction

For political reasons the temple was moved from one place of Nallur to another. Area The first temple was thought to be built with 948 AD on the land originally known as "Kurukkal Valavu", but the temple had to be rebuilt several times in different places for foreign invasion.

The fourth and current temple was built in 1749 in the calm colonial era of the Netherlands. It was built by Krishna Suva Iyer and Ragunatha Maapaana Mudaliyar in the premise of the original temple "Cluckal Valavu".

The temple was originally built with bricks and stones and has a shield roof. There are only two main halls in the original shrine, there is no bell tower, the surrounding courtyards and walls, or gorgeously carved towers and goprams.

The first bell tower was built in 1899. In 1902, the ceiling of the temple or main hall where the spear was placed was refurbished with stone. The first wall was built in 1909. Likewise, the temple is gradually renovated over time. The time has come to contribute in general. In 1964, 'Vasantha Mandapam' or the hall was renovated and now it looks better.

The main entrance of the temple faces east. There is a spectacularly carved five-story tower of Dravidian style or gopram at the main entrance.

In the courtyard there is a shrine of Sir Ganache, Vialaval, Sun, Sandana Gopara. On the south side of the temple you can see the sacred shrine and Thandayudhapaani shrine dedicated to another aspect of God of Murga. Located on the north side of the Great Holy Garden

Tourism in Sri Lanka is growing rapidly. For centuries, Sri Lanka is a popular attraction for foreign tourists. Chinese traveler Fa-Hien visited Sri Lanka early in the 4th century, Italian explorer Marco Polo claimed that Sri Lanka is the "world's largest island" in the 12th century. Government initiatives in tourism development can be traced back to 1937 when the Ceylon Tourism Board was founded. However, due to the Second World War, it was closed in September 1939. After Sri Lanka's independence, the tourism industry was reconsidered by re-establishing Ceylon Tourism Bureau which took over the functions of the tourism bureau. By the promulgation of Act No. 10 of 1966 formal approval of the tourism department of the country was achieved. With this, the law concerning the establishment of the Ceylon Tourism Bureau was enacted.
