At the second novel workshop of my MFA project, my professor asked each of us to change the order to introduce my favorite short story. The idea is that everyone in the class reads and analyzes each short story. And by touching different classmates' preferences, it may help to better understand what short stories can do. During my week I chose the "sea child" by Haitian American writer Edwidge Dantikyat. KRAK! This story is my favorite short story as I met it during college. This is a story that hurt my heart; the story, when I finished, I had to spend some time just to close the book and breathe. When I first wrote a blog post on how much I influenced him, I was touched very much.
