My Perspective on the Future of Education

My view on the future of education is very interesting to the future of education and it is also important for me as I plan to become a teacher in the future. Many changes will be made before entering the education sector. The majority of these changes are positive and help me become a better teacher. With the help of new technology, the future of education will fundamentally change. Education has changed for technical reasons. You can see computers of each class. In the future, most courses are taught perfectly through the computer.

From the viewpoint of computer education researcher, I was asked to talk about my vision of the future of engineering education. What I said is not completely unique - there are engineering education researchers who have already studied some of the projects I explained. I will tell this story in a blog format as the reply shows that it is at least an interesting vision. I assert my fundamental assumption that MOOC is not the future of our (Western) higher education system, but the recent trip to Asia shows a very different perspective to me. As a member of the Stifterverband Higher Education Digitization Delegation, I visited the Ministry of Higher Education in Malaysia and I was able to discuss the "Malaysian Educational Blueprint 2015-2025 (MEB)" with senior officials. It can be at least an ambitious plan. Basically, the country hopes to raise the level of higher education from 36% in 2012 to 53% in 2025, increasing the number of students to more than 5 million from the current 4 million. Global online learning is seen as the focus of these figures, and MOOC plays an important role in this concept.
