After being challenged by a group of elementary school sixth graders, I have created a process of personal story that becomes my turning point. As a young teacher I learned that there is a cultural connection between talking, reading and writing. My students learned to accept writing because I permitted "writing and editing verbally" stories before writing stories. But before I became a classroom teacher, I already learned how powerful storytelling and story lighting are powerful. This is actually my mother's genius when I am young struggle and become confidently a writer. This is a story.
I am a third grader at elementary school when I score our sentences, I had a teacher using a red pen. As a young artist, I am working hard, and the red sign of my work did nothing to build my confidence. At the end of that grade my language skill was low, so my pride was low. My mother knows that I am struggling to write I know that she must do something to help me before she enters the fourth grade. At that time, I did not know my mother was a genius.
On a hot July day, when I entered my 4th grade, I walked to the kitchen where my mother was making sandwiches, and made a mistake saying "Mom, I am bored!" . When I am bored, she will give me one of two things: a toilet brush or a vacuum cleaner. That day, she did not hand over these things to me. Instead she entered into her own closet and handed me a hand-painted wooden box. "What do you want me to do for you?" I asked. "I hope that you will go on an adventure this summer," she replied. Confused, I said, "What do you mean?" My mother explained: "I hope you go out everyday and try new things ... something new I challenge you that you can pick things, help you remember what you did, put it in this box and help you bring it home.
I am very excited about this idea. Because I am about to travel my mother, she never knows what I am doing.
I went searching for adventure everyday in the summer and put things in the box every day. Before going to bed at night, my mother tries to guess, but she never succeeded. I have to tell her my adventure story and write it down. At the end of summer, my adventure box has 22 items, and this journal has 22 stories.
On the first morning of the school, I entered the classroom of 4th grade with an adventure box with one hand and a diary with the other hand. I handed them to my new teacher and said, "Mrs Stevens, I am a writer!" She said, "This is nice," I said. When I graduated from elementary school third grader I was not a writer. Now I am saying, "A beloved woman came home with a diary on the first day of school and read all the stories I wrote in the summer, a memo by Mrs. Stebbins on the next blank page, which is written in red ink It is not "Jennifer: You are not only a writer but you are a good person, I am looking forward to reading your story this year, in my 4th grade".
I probably did not know that then, but it certainly was the beginning of my career as a teacher, a storyteller, a writer and a story consultant. If you want to discover and write your personal stories, please contact me to arrange consultation or turning point seminars.
This story is obviously not our story, but for many of you, I am motivated to write down it and to help those who may be in the same situation as my mother, or to motivate others You can accomplish whatever you want, you just need to, and in the end I will motivate my family and my family
My father was undoubtedly an inspiration for growth when I saw him performing his career. He is a PR genius and always has some crazy stunts and stories, he cooked and got all the papers. When I started business, he was great encouragement (like my mother) and gave me the support and ideas on what to do next. In one obvious answer, we partnered with Breaking Ground in New York City and helped them to provide housing and support for homeless people on the streets of New York. We organize the Live Rent Free competition once a month and pay one month's worth of rent for roommate (and annual bonus amount of rent for one year). When we got up we got feedback from people who liked it from social media but they asked if we could do something to help the homeless. Therefore, we currently compare monthly competition awards and competition prizes, support permanent and transient housing programs, and support from street to family team.
