The story of my life is a British independent pop band which peaked in the latter half of the mid - 1990s when they were considered part of the rock band in the UK. A band led by singer-songwriter Jack Hillingford was founded in London around 1991 and inherited the name of the early group starring Shillingford. The cross between the pop band and indoor orchestra, the voice of the band is directed mainly to orchestral instruments. When their debut single "Girl A, Girl B, Boy C" (1993) was produced by George's son Giles Martin, the group had a regular lineup of 12 members. The number of members had fluctuated until 1999, but their third album was usually attributed only to 4 members, but it rarely became a single. Their orchestral sounds compared them with groups like Tindersticks, especially The Divine Comedy. Their debut album, Mornington Crescent, was released on January 10, 1995. The story of my life was most successful at their second album, Golden Mile (issued on March 10, 1997).
