My Ghost

My Ghost is an exhibition of works by Adam Fuss in the past 3 years and will be exhibited at Fraenkel Gallery 49 George Street in San Francisco from 4th January to 3rd March 2001. This exhibition includes recent silver salt photographs and images of unique pictures that are not just smoke and light.

From the beginning, Fuss's new work includes issues like life and death, birth, love and loss. The conclusion that people draw from Flowserve's work is that he is not trying to direct or manipulate these essentially ambiguous themes. Instead he solves their unique mystery. This is mainly achieved by the Fuss photography method. In the picture he is seeing, the mystery of smoke still remains and is recorded directly on paper by flash. Each of these pictures communicates their theme in a different way; some have definite edges and specific shapes, others have slippery, translucent ventilation

Fuss also restored the process of the silver salt photography of the 19th century to his work. Using this format, historically primarily used for portraits, he focuses on five themes and draws a very different theme: a swan body with wings, an image of poetry by Tarkovsky ( That work is important for Flowserve), baptismal dresses, butterflies and self-portraits.
