My independence in Antonia and belonging to Antonia has two types, those who want men and those who do not like them. The key word is that women do not need men in the whole process of the novel. From Hired Girls to Tiny Soderball, Lena Lingard, women are self-sufficient and happy. Most people who are really happy are living alone or without heterosexuality. Antonia and Kuzac are the only examples of "ordinary" happy couples, and everyone else has a problem hindering normal relationships.

In Willa Cather's "My Antonia", Antonia Himalda is faced with difficulties in the country lifestyle while maintaining her independence and vitality. Her immigration, her father's suicide, and her lack of her women's rights and many other obstacles, she embodies the theme of "women's power". Through the eyes of Jim Baden, Antonia's struggle and trial show her great enthusiasm. In spite of unfortunate circumstances, Antonia expressed her natural instinct to overcome her ability and circumstance to maintain independence if the woman was not portrayed as capable.

Some of Jim's changes involve moving from his parents Virginia to Black Hawk, Nebraska and his grandparents, and his other changes are moving from one country to another. You can say that this whole book is about change.
