Muscular Strength and Endurance

Strength and quality of endurance are often closely related. As we test or evaluate our customers, we will focus on the body composition and then perform cardiovascular tests. How many people will consider muscle strength or muscle endurance test? Before we get started, is it really necessary to know how strong our customers are?

In fact, many fitness professionals believe that it is not necessary to test muscular strength and endurance before establishing exercise programs. However, while personal trainers tend to concentrate on strength training during client meetings, group fitness coaches focus on class strength and flexibility.

This is one reason for the fourth edition. Personal trainer handbook (chapter 7 and chapter 8) and third edition. This topic is described in the Group Fitness Instructor (Chapter 3) manual. Understanding the importance of strength and endurance is also important for certification exams (we finally return there)

When talking about muscle endurance and muscular strength, things may be a bit confusing. Muscle strength tests are often tested and do not rely on muscle endurance. The first maximum iteration (1RM) test is generally considered to be a "benchmark" of measured intensity. This is a comprehensive effort to see how much you can improve - a measure of the maximum strength that muscle can produce with one-off maximum effort

However, it is not advisable to use 1RM type tests for beginner's tests. It is neither safe nor accurate. Usually, I do not know where to start from.

On the other hand, muscle endurance is the ability of muscles to repeatedly apply maximum down force over time, such as semi-sitting tests and push-up tests. However, the muscle endurance test also measures some degree of strength.

The above push test is an example. If the muscles of the upper body are very weak, you will have trouble keeping up with the climax. Therefore, you may only be able to do some push - ups before everything is sent out. Because your power is weak, we can not get a lot of stamina. Another example is the YMCA bench press test. You will gain weight to the speed of the metronome. If you fail to lift the lever or fail to follow the metronome, the test stops. This type of testing has disadvantages for light customers. Since it is too heavy, trying to raise the bar to the starting position will not repeat. My strength influences my endurance

Looking at muscle assessment, there are major differences when trying to judge whether it is strength or endurance. If the test is a completely one-time test, it is the measured intensity. This is a measure of endurance if the test requires the customer to repeat the action more than once.

Muscle strength and endurance are one of the factors related to health health (ACSM, 2003). McManis, Baumgartner, and Wuest (2000) mention that muscle strength and endurance levels influence the ability of individuals to perform everyday functions and various physical activities throughout the life cycle. The strength and endurance of the upper body are also considered important for the performance of functional and routine activities, as well as the prevention of injuries and osteoporosis. Because of the importance of strength and endurance of the upper body, Engelman & Morrow (1991) pointed out that test developers constantly develop different upper body health tests and are striving to include them in test batteries. Therefore, physical education teachers can record health related body health using muscle health test scores. There are many test batteries developed by different organizations for use by PE educators.

There are five health-related fitness areas. They have cardiac endurance or cardiovascular endurance, muscle strength, muscle endurance, flexibility and body composition. Cardiopulmonary endurance or cardiovascular endurance is the ability to exercise the entire body for a long time. To supply oxygen to the body, you need a strong heart, a healthy lung, and a transparent blood vessel. Activities to improve regional fitness include running, swimming, aerobics dance and so on. People must continue to work for at least 20 minutes in the target heart rate zone. Endurance / cardiovascular activity should be at least 3 days per week. Every other day is desirable. Miles or pacemakers will measure health checkups in that area. Strength is the power that muscles can demonstrate. It is usually measured by how much weight you can lift. Fitness test is measured with pushups
