"Muséedes Beaux Arts" (French is "museum") is a poem that W. H. Auden collaborated with Christopher Isherwood in Brussels, Belgium in December 1938. It was first published in "Palace des Beaux-Arts" as "New Writing" (Modernist Magazine Edited by John Lehmann) in the Spring of 1939. It then appeared in another time collection (New York: Random House, 1940), in English four months later (London: Faber and Farber, 1940). The title of the poem comes from Belgium of the Islamic Art Museum in Brussels and is known for its early Dutch painting collection. Oden visited the museum and saw some of his second lines of "Old Masters" including the elderly Peter Bruegel.
