Starting with this article, I believe that I am a retired English teacher with 34 years of experience, dealing fairly and fairly with all the students. Three times, I was recommended as "Who is an American teacher?" Two of the recommendations were minority students, one was black and the other was Hispanic. Their students realized that my classroom standards were as rigid as most white students, and that there were no bias, slackness or obstacles with regard to their minority positions.
