Mr. Duffy in James Joyce's "A Painful Case"

"Mr. Duffy dislikes anything that could lead to a physical or mental disability." This view is quite obvious when studying the arrangement, career, and everyday life of Davi's life. Obviously, Mr. Duffy is a very independent person who seems to need order and structure in every aspect of his life. As I looked up Mr. Duffy's room, I found his furniture was small, including beds, sinks, chairs, hangers, tables on the table. His room was neither colorful nor cluttered, but consisted of white bedding, white shades, white bookshelves, towering walls, and there were no pictures.
