In the morning, I went to Montgomery and stayed in a historic site known as the Commonwealth White House. It is a magnificent Italian residence in the center of Montgomery, opposite the State Capitol. Originally built by the ancestors of Zelda Fitzgerald, in 1861 Jefferson Davis and his family's house, and Lincoln's White House rival south. I say that most Americans who live in the north or western part of the country do not understand that the first white house in the south exists. Unless I've spent a long time in the south, I do not know how much the civil war history has been maintained and respected, and how it is understood. Montgomery is the capital of Alabama, the county seat of Montgomery County. Named after Richard Montgomery, it is located next to the Alabama River in the coastal plain of the Gulf of Mexico. In the 2010 census, the population of Montgomery was 205,764 people. It is the second most populous city in Alabama, the second largest city after Birmingham, the 118th largest city in the United States. The population of the Montgomery metropolitan area statistics area in 2010 is estimated to be 374,536 people, it is the fourth largest city in the state and 136th in the US metropolitan area.

Montgomery and Montgomery County are operated by Montgomery Public School System. As of 2007, a total of 32,520 students enrolled in this system and employed 2,382 teachers. This system manages 32 elementary schools, 10 junior high schools, 5 high schools, 9 magnetic schools, 1 alternative school, 2 special education centers. Montgomery is the only public school in southeast with International Baccalaureate. In 2007, Forest Avenue Academic Magnet Elementary School was elected National Blue Ribbon School. In 2014, LAMP High School was elected the 1st high school in Alabama with the 7th largest magnet school in the United States in the US news and world report list. The other three Montgomery public schools are also on the list, the largest of all public school systems in the state (BTW Magnet, Brew Baker Technology Magnet, Carver High School). There are 28 private schools in Montgomery.
