In "Great Gatsby" of Fitzgerald published in 1925, the American dream was first recognized through the discovery and pursuit of happiness. In the 1920s, people in the US enjoyed easy money, party and relaxed social outlook. But Fitzgerald showed how American soldiers returned to their home from the war in delusions, and the sense of American dreams was hidden by the luxury of money and charm.
