Wong worked in pearl paint and became friends with some of the young graffiti artists of those days. He gathered their paintings, pictures and sketches. After that, Wong founded American Graffiti Museum in Dongcun, but the museum was short-lived. In 1994, Mr. Hwang, who had AIDS, donated these items to the New York City Museum and then returned to his native San Francisco where he died in 1999. I can understand the preference of street art for graffiti art. Kate Murphy, Coordinator of Graff Tours, a travel agency that tours graffiti and street art in several cities in the USA, says: "Street art is an extension of graffiti but it is more acceptable." The more obvious image of street art is preferred by business and community organizations. The theme of street art can be shaped, and graffiti art, contrary to being guided by other people other than the artists themselves no matter how artistic they are.
