Modern Problems: Childhood Obesity

Childhood obesity is one of the most anxious problems in early childhood. As in the 21st century, childhood obesity is still one of the most serious public health challenges. This situation is global because it affects different people in different geographical areas. In addition, it will steadily affect people living in low and middle income countries (Cameron, 2006). In the past few years, the rise in the speed of social conditions has attracted the attention of various people.

Literature on subjects of childhood obesity is few but increasing, and these papers discuss why it is a social problem. There are also documents that explain the market leading to childhood obesity and the government's failure and some general trends surrounding this issue. Evaluate several possible solutions and make recommendations to help mitigate this public health problem. In the past 30 years, the childhood obesity rate and adolescence obesity rate of pre-school children doubled, but the adolescence obesity rate almost tripled in the same period (Nutrition, 2007, 19). . Increased likelihood of complications such as childhood obesity and subsequent heart disease, type 2 diabetes, hypertension, sleep apnea, and other health problems lead to higher medical and social costs

Influence of childhood obesity Childhood obesity is associated with major psychological and physical health problems. Obesity and some obese children have low self-image, low confidence and depression even at very young ages (POST, 2003). As we get older, the risk of developing these psychological problems is particularly high for girls. It is also proved that obese children are more likely to become obese adults later in life. POST (2003) argues that overweight young people have a 70% chance of becoming overweight or obese adults.
