The purpose of the course is to provide a scientific basis for understanding and development of building materials. It is a basic course for graduate students interested in research, education, construction engineering, marketing related to building materials, decision making, innovation, regulation. It can also be a top course for undergraduates to complete civil engineering and architecture studies.
The final exam (face-to-face, supervised, now India) is essential for accreditation and has INR Rupee. As an exam fee 1100
Dr. Ravindra Gettu is a professor of civil engineering at IIT Madras. After obtaining his Ph.D. from Northwestern University (USA) in 1990, he served as Director of Structural Technology Research Institute at the Catalonia Institute of Technology in Barcelona, Spain until 2004. He is co-authoring over 400 scientific publications. In the field of concrete technology, it is effective to use admixture, self-filling concrete and fiber reinforced concrete. He is currently the vice president of RILEM, an international laboratory and expert association of building materials, structures and systems based in the concrete laboratories in France and India. He advises many major building material makers and projects. He has taught this course at IIT Madras and Concrete Technology for the past ten years.

e-Cert is issued to those who register and write exams and score more than 40% of the final score. The certificate will give you your name, picture, and score in the final exam. The logo of NPTEL and IIT Madras is entered. It is electronically verified with nptel.ac.in/noc.
After the introduction of modern building materials such as zinc, cement, brick, glass, shutters of aluminum, traditional Murray house changed traditional house shape and side effects of high heat capacity material. Examples of high heat capacity materials that are not suitable for the region's climate, such as the asbestos roof of zinc and Murray's house, generate more noise during rain and provide extremely hot interior during the day. In addition to climate effects, the use of modern materials has led to the reduction of traditional aesthetic skills and the creation of complex roofing technology. In addition to the use of zinc and asbestos materials bricks, cement and concrete are better materials used to create walls, especially wet areas and stronger building structures. Some Murray Families have a closed lower side to make a two story house. It will lead to reduced ventilation efficiency
The main users of our natural resources and modern materials are users in the construction industry. This evidence is transparent so you can see it. Steel and state-of-the-art glass building materials are building high-rise buildings. Steel and glass are excellent architectural innovations that push the perceptual structure to the world and push forward the modern lifestyle beyond the boundaries. Frank Lloyd Wright spent more than half a century to create a revolutionary design in the 20th century. Light is a person recognized by the American Architects Association as "the best American architect in history." Over the past few decades the industry has made progress - more than ever developed, but 409 buildings of Wright still exist
