Bowen believes that humans depend on others and will respond to others. Families may be alienated or may be estranged from each other, but this is not a fact but an emotion. No matter how far I feel, my family can deeply influence each other 's emotions, behavior and thoughts ("Bowen Center", n.d.).
The main purpose of the therapist is to understand how families work and interact. According to the character and belief of the author, this paper uses an intergenerational model and a structured family therapy model as two more appropriate and effective models. After introducing the most important family therapy schools, we introduced the main theoretical concepts, technologies and roles of therapists at intergenerational and structural schools. This paper concludes with a discussion on how the two schools have become the basic pillars of the authors' family therapy approach, which must be established and developed.
