The fight against the opioid crisis is a top priority for the Missouri State Health Service Center (DHSS). The agency cooperates with partners such as sister state agencies, municipal authorities, hospitals, law enforcement agencies to deal with this modern epidemic. We know that everyone who is overdoing or involved in funds for rehabilitation is a child of a mother, father, brother, or other person. DHSS's efforts include a series of opioid summits in nine states, including Cape Girard, Columbia, Joplin, Kansas City, Kirksville, Poplar Bruff, and St. Joseph, St. Louis, Springfield. The agency is also working to track data related to opioid abuse and to indicate where it is most needed and where progress is taking place. DHSS works with the Governor's Office and Congress to help save lives of people suffering from opioid addiction and to develop new measures to improve people's lives
