Misrepresented Cultures

Distorted culture Horace Mitchell Miner wrote a wonderful article, although after researching the anthropology about the rest of my life, it is confusing about American culture. He was born in Minnesota and moved to Kentucky where he became a curator of the museum and since then became an associate professor of anthropology and sociology at the University of Michigan at his career. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Department of Social Studies, but he is not very active because his work is mainly based on field.

Those material and cultural exhibitions are actually intended to devaluate or distort their original culture. In this research paper I decided to focus on the collection of materials and cultures of the Logan Anthropology Museum and the Smithsonian Museum at the University of Beloit. First of all, I will share what I know about the history of museums first. Next, we will decide how the museum will blur and distort the culture they show through exhibitions.

The first argument focuses on what I call local disposal. The premise of this discussion is that outsiders engaged in infringement of subjects inevitably distort insiders and their culture. These false statements can cause harm in various ways. The most noteworthy thing is that outsiders create and keep harmful stereotypes that harm cultural members. For example, Old Hollywood Westerners represent cruel and hypocritical American Natives. Disney's Peter Pan (1953) is a strangely distorted member of the North American indigenous culture and I will not let the children see it. Distorted stereotypes harm cultural members in many ways. Cultural members may be discriminated against in employment or education. In other words, this can lead to economic problems that makes it difficult to maintain culture.

Most of the literature written by American ethnic ethnic writers is pedagogy, not for mainstream culture, but for the culture of the ethnic minority they belong to. These authors recognize that mainstream culture distorts the history of ethnic minorities and that the challenge of directly enhancing and healing their own culture is the burden of a few writers. - Although the movie "Pocahontas" is popular and widely viewed, it is an incomparable historical event. When making an animated movie "Wind of the Wind", Disney was indifferent to historical facts and never failed. When they saw the numbers of Pocahontas and John Smith, Disney cartoonists were watching adult movies for the first time.
