For this task, I will study social learning theory. Social learning theory was originally proposed by Albert Bandura. This is the theory that "emphasize the importance of observing and simulating other people's behavior, attitudes, emotional responses" ("Social learning theory", nd). Social learning theory has three main assumptions. First, the theory assumes that people can learn by observing others (Cherry, n.d.). Second, social learning theory is based on behaviorism.
There are four major theories trying to describe personality: psychoanalysis theory, five element model, human theory and social learning theory. Psychoanalytic and social learning model theory dominated personality psychology through the first half of the 20th century. Later on, humanism and five theories emerged, bringing in new ideas. Each theory has its own strengths and weaknesses, so every theory is important.
Learning theory can be divided into description theory and description theory. Descriptive learning theory describes how learning is performed and models that can be used to interpret and predict learning outcomes. In describing the different learning description theory below, we follow a common classification that distinguishes behavioral, cognitive, constructiveistic learning theory. Normality learning theory focuses on guidelines that explain how to achieve specific results. They are usually based on description theory, but sometimes they come from experience.
