Cultural myth is a collection of fairy tales and creeds. Cultural myth is a set of beliefs and stories characterized by a specific culture. Empowerment is a process that enhances the ability of groups and individuals to make decisions and transform their choices into actions and results that are most needed. Empowerment is the degree to which people can control important matters for themselves. However, once individuals are authorized, they can manipulate the choices, shape their lives, and potentially affect the lives of other people.
Mike Ross's "I just want to average" talking about his high school-wide experience. When he was a freshman, he was mistakenly included in the vocational curriculum. He worked hard so as to go outside, but he took full advantage of his situation. Ross detailed the types of specific events and people he encountered from athletes and rebels to bullies and "hodads". He showed the readers the personality of some of the teachers he met and in the vocational course they were not keen on their work and did not believe the student's abilities. Through personal experience, Ross shows that teachers lack confidence and lead students to relax and not mind studying. During the second year's study at Ross he was really enjoying working with Brant Clint in biology lessons. Switching to the University Preparatory Course is a difficult transition, but Rose can overcome this challenge.
In his article "I just want to be normal", Mike Ross detailed his school life in South L. Currently, UCLA's professor of educational informatics, Ross is at Voc's Virgin Middle School. By tracking, the standardized version of this "educational system" reveals the reasons for betraying the core value behind the liberal humanities education we understand. He explains the vocational education students in detail, because Rose wants to emphasize the value of all the individuals, their actual intellectual ability, and the way the system classifies and deals with those differences.
Mike Rose wrote "Boundary Life" mainly to promote defects in our educational system mainly on career tracks. Mike Ross proved that many of these students need to teach in various situations, not vulnerable people. McKroe's experience proves that you can reach these students in various ways. Paying personal attention and investigating student career is a way to use it to suggest that he understand and then maximize their education. Michaels' belief and method is honest and glorious, but not practical. Fortunately, I think people like Mike Ross are willing to invest 110%, but I believe that all educators have his ambition. One of the theme of this book is hope. I hope MikeRose's book will help us change our educational system.
