Miep Gies

Hermine (Miep) Gies-Santrouschitz was born in Vienna in 1909. Her parents sent her and other children to the Netherlands after World War I recovered from tuberculosis and malnutrition. She like the Netherlands very much so that her parents allow her parents to leave her Dutch family.
