Metempsychosis (Metempsychosis) is a philosophical term in Greek, meaning the reincarnation or resurrection of the soul after death. It was the reincarnation of Pherecydes that was most quickly related to the Greek philosopher; however, Pythagoras was claimed to be his student and his first famous philosopher. In the Western tradition, the importance of reincarnation is mainly due to the adoption of Plato. In his view, the number of souls is fixed (not created at birth) has been transferred from one body to another. This idea was continued until the oldest classical thinker of Ancient, Protino and other new Platonist.

The scholars are not sure whether Plato truly believes in reincarnation, or whether his story has meaning. Because reincarnation is based on the soul's desire for new experience rather than the result of judgment, reincarnation is different from reborn. In theory of reincarnation, the actions of good and evil in your life determine the essence of the body to be assigned to the next life. Metempsychosis is very suitable for Greek philosophy and myths as a whole; in Greek mythology God often uses human and animal shapes to achieve their goals.

Reborn, like reincarnation, is a concept from Greek philosophy. Reborn is also called "reincarnation of the soul" and represents the process by which the soul is transferred to another body after death. This metastasis can occur between people and animals. For example, a human being may come back as another person, or as a bird or animal, or some sort of reptile. Likewise, the soul of an animal can be returned as a human being. Reborn is different from reincarnation. Because the soul does not "rise" nor "fall" because of the actions of good and evil of life. Instead, the soul chooses a new body as a way to gain different experiences.
