Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ

Mel Gibson 's Crucifixion Many Americans gathered to watch Mel Gibson' s movie 'Passion of Christ'. With more than 10,000 screens across the country, people have seen "depicting painful Jesus in the vivid colors of the widescreen over the past 12 hours." (Allen 2004) People learned that the statue of Jesus was whipped, nailed to the cross and abandoned. Some Jews are afraid that some Christians feel uneasy about theology and are "inducing violence against them because they describe Jews' participation in the death of Jesus" because of this violent behavior. (Allen 2004) Despite all these factors, people accepted the idea behind the movie.

First of all, let me briefly introduce the tradition of the passion of the late medieval period, which was incorporated into the early Catholic tradition that is obviously attributed to us through some of Mel Gibson's "sufferings of Christ". In the passionate sermons of the 16th and 17th centuries, many details were added without leaving any imagination.
