As you work as a consultant, the situation of customers is very different and can be far apart, so you can quickly see that there is no perfect or fixed way to support customers. Customers can ask for advice directly on issues, but in order to become a clear and effective consultant, we need to find the best way for customers to master skills to develop their own solutions there is. Due to the different needs of each customer, most counselors use a variety of frameworks called integration approaches.
Beckett (2006) argues that the role of social workers can be categorized into three categories: supporters, direct changeers, and administrators. The role of advocacy can be direct or indirect. The direct change agent is a counselor or therapist, mediator, educator and catalyst, role manager, care manager, responsible person, coordinator and service developer (Beckett 2006 p8). The goal of social workers is to identify social pressures and needs in the community and use existing resources or build resources that may be missing. For example, communities need housing, improve and develop the environment, and may meet day care for infants, after-school clubs, facilities for disabled people, antisocial problems and rehabilitation centers, and other needs.
Family mediators are currently attending school to ensure that young people do not become homeless. The harsh reality of the street life is targeted to young people who are taught how to negotiate themselves in the conflict. Counselors specializing in this work also train personnel to become mediators of families of other organizations. Homeless is addressed through social involvement in other innovative ways. In London, Thamesreach Bondway, a charitable organization that helps poor sleep, has set up a special program designed to help people adapt after homelessness. This includes a peer education program that advises tenants how homeless people will rebuild their lives.
