Media is essential to every society and we are all surrounded by media. People interact with various forms of media everyday. Media is often defined as a communication channel. As a society, we absorb media from various forms such as television, radio, magazines, newspapers, bulletin boards and the Internet. These are called "mass media" because they are spreading to the masses of many people (Giddens, 2009, p. 724).
Clearly, our modern society is greatly influenced by the media, but the media is also affected by society. In our daily life, we rely mostly on the media, and there is no easy way to avoid it. However, it is possible to limit our exposure and the extent that it allows us to influence our lives. Finally, we must understand what we have witnessed in the media and be alert.
