Media and Gun Control

Regulation of gun control was always a very important issue in American society, but it has become a bigger problem in recent years. Our founder believes that gun control is a prerequisite for the second amendment. As society shifted from a British rule of freedom to a diversified technologically advanced country, the new situation had a major impact on public opinion and coordinated the current policy. The overwhelming problem in the United States is whether gun control positively affects the safety of the citizen as a whole.

Abstract: Large-scale shooting incidents in the United States gather widespread media attention and public attention, causing discussions about gun control. Media coverage and academic research on gun control attitudes and response to large-scale shooting incidents paid little attention to the role of religion. Recent research has revealed the complex relationship between religion and gun. It includes strong gun ownership and strong opposition from white evangelical Protestants to gun domination. This survey uses survey data represented nationwide to show that among the support of a series of gun control policies including religious identity, gun ownership, and suggested remedies for large shooting I examined the relationship. Compared with other religious traditions, evangelical Protestants are most opposed to more stringent gun control laws and enforcement, even though they have dominated gun ownership and demographic characteristics.
