Christmas Materialism and Commercialization Today's Christmas seems to be a victim of materialism and commercialization. It is not an age of love and devotion, it is a stressful greedy season. With all the tricks we need to recognize the real cause of the season and celebrate it in a way that justifies this. Many in America society believe that the main purpose of Christmas is Santa Claus' assumption.

During Christmas I first saw Alfa Romeo's "evil game" commercial, watching the BBC American brothers and sisters and the doctor Who Christmas special. It appeared during the first commercial, and we did not mind. It appeared in the second commercial, and we commented on that absurdity. It appeared after each commercial and our humor suffered from trouble, anger, confusion, acceptance, and back to anger again. Do not get me wrong, I am very impressed with the handling of these cars. I have been driving several winter in New England, I know that if the business really represents the capabilities of these cars, I am afraid of losing control of the pieces of ice.

Christmas has become too commercial. Christmas is a religious festival commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ, but the Christmas holiday itself concerns the exchange of gifts with friends and family rather than publicly celebrating the birth of Christ. Shopping activities such as Black Friday introduce the degree of commercialization related to Christmas. I think that I personally attracted Christmas, candles and tradition. For example, bringing trees and Santa Claus and stockings, and holly and mistletoe are not Christians! I think that it is better to do so so that everyone, not Christians, can celebrate.

During the Christmas season we have done our best to counter advertising clues and materialization, even learned and focused on Christmas' s "what". But when we try to remember "what" at Christmas, we must remember "why" Christmas. If Jesus was born as a historical fact, Christmas is not worth the celebration. So, "Why was Jesus born, why is this a good thing?" Must be asked.
