The concept of ongoing material and conceptual relations between humans and the environment requires a subtle approach to avoid generalization. I think that we can not prove the importance of the concept unless we make dangerous assumptions. While some scholars may think that human religion and ethical world view form the environment, there is strong evidence to support the view of ergonomics and the environment that affect religion and moral system.

It is helpful to distinguish between the two main beliefs associated with various aspects of the environment. These are related to the contents of my recent Olin lecture, which I marked as a concept of materials and materials of a certain culture. The latter relates to understanding the world around us and the human beings in it. Unfortunately, however, there are some signs that humans are greedy overcrowding them. The desire to meet demand can in some ways have the opposite effect.
