In this lesson, I will use big words of non-fiction text Martin. Martin Luther King Jr. by Doreen Rappaport and Linda Riley has the opportunity to learn about Martin Luther King in Martin Luther King's life. Life, and why do we respect him today. Use the second book to answer questions about the person, content, time, place, method, and reason of the text. Students create graphical organizers explaining Martin Luther King using adjectives. Martin Luther King will explain it using the information I got from reading this article. For final assessment, students write a review article explaining Martin Luther King and use the support details of that article. They use the logical AND "from" in writing, as well as the start and end statements. Teachers can also choose to offer students multiple selection / brief question understanding tests as an alternative to assessing understanding of text.
