About three centuries ago, black men and women from Africa were brought to the United States and enslaved. In the United States, they are treated more rigorously than any other country that employs slavery. African Americans did not become free until after the civil war almost 100 years later. Even if the African-Americans are free and the Constitution is amended to guarantee racial equality, they are not treated as white people yet, they are considered second-class citizens.
