But my illusion made it impossible to enter Peter's Wonderland deeper ... a huge female bat appeared on the horizon and slid into the cleaning station. Bats are members of Myliobatiformes and consist of stingray and their relatives. Manta is part of the genus Myliobatidae and is classified together with the Mobula devil ray of the subfamily Mobulinae. In 2017, Mobula was found to be a subfamily of bats by DNA analysis and slight morphology, suggesting that Manta is synonymous with Mobula. Manta evolved from benthic rose stingray, and ultimately formed more wing-like pectoral fin. M. birostris still has stinging spines in the form of residual spine. Most of the mouth of the light is on the underside of the head, but it is in front of you in Manta. Batley and Devilleay are the only ray types evolved into a filter feeder.
