Man’yōshū and Kokinshū Hallmark of The Japanese Poetic Form

Manyoshu may be interpreted as "One Yea" or "One Dage" which is the first poem written by a Japanese poet. The meaning caught by a dramatic headline, after having passed countless generations and influenced the entire Japanese poet throughout history. The collection contains lower poetry hundreds of years ago and songs of "original", but the contents of 20 volumes are mainly from court songs of Japanese society (Brower 89).
