The nature of our foreign policy is changing, but the basic goals remain unchanged. It is to pursue national interest internationally and to ensure the continued prosperity and stability of our country.

The premise of the foreign policy of Malaysia is to establish a close and friendly relationship with the countries of the international community. Tun Razak launched a series of brilliant initiatives in foreign policy, mainly to build this position since independence, in order to make Malaysia escape from the anti-communism standpoint of the parent western Europe and the United States. This is accomplished by protecting the sovereignty of the state, promoting peace in the world, promoting friendly relations with foreign countries, and protecting the interests of Malaysia in regional and international fields. In other words, Malaysia will continue to integrate relations with other countries and international organizations at regional and international levels.
