Majungatholus Atopus: A Dinosaur Cannibal

Majungatholus Atopus: Dinosaur cannibal dinosaur Majungatholus atopus is a carnivorous dinosaur that lived between 65 and 70 million years ago during the Cretaceous, and now Madagascar. Majungatholus has long been known for carnivorous dinosaurs, but until recently researchers have discovered that this dinosaur may eat man. They concluded that this might be due to the discovery of some bones of Majungatholus dinosaur with Majungatholus dinosaur specific tooth mark.

Majungasaurus belongs to the unrivaled beast leg dinosaurs who lived in Madagascar from 70 to 66 million years ago at the end of Cretaceous. Only one species (Majungasaurus crenatissimus) was identified. This dinosaur is abbreviated as Majungatholus and it is now thought that the name is a major synonym for Majungasaurus. Like other invertebrates, Majungasaurus is a short looter with two legs. The forelimbs are not completely clear, but they are very short, the hindlimbs are longer and very thick. It can be distinguished from other invertebrates by its broader skull, very rough texture, and thickened bones at its crown and single rounded corner at the top of the scalp. Compared to most invertebrates, the number of teeth on the upper and lower jaws also increases.

Known for its well preserved skull and rich aggregate, Majungasaurus has recently become one of the most studied dinosaurs in the Southern Hemisphere. It seems to be most closely related to Aberisaurus from India, not South America or Africa. It has important biological geographical significance. Majungasaurus is the best predator in its ecosystem, preying one of the few dinosaurs with Ryuukoda like Rapetosaurus and direct evidence of cannibalism. (See more ...)
