MahaMetro invites bids for underground Phase-I work

PUNE: Maha Metro already bids the underground part of the Pune Metro project

A section of length 5 km will connect Shiva Sinagar and Swagate's agricultural university. MahaMetro is planning to complete the work in two stages

The first stage of the bid - the construction of the tunnel between the agricultural college and the north end of Budhwar Peth station, and the design and construction of civil courts and Shivajinagar station - were invited

The agents who are interested can send work instructions by confirming the bid after sending the bid by July 10. The official said that the actual work after the event will start thereafter

The second stage of bidding may be held within a few days from Budhwar Peth subway station to Swargate. According to the plan, the elevated stretch starts with Pimpri and arrives at Range Hills via Nashik Phata, Dapodi, Bopodi, Khadki. It enters the basement at the warehouse of agricultural university and ends with Swargate. Adjustment of route and site location is completed

The official said the tunnel boring machine (TBM) will be used for tunneling. To reduce TBM, MahaMetro digs the shaft with Swargate and Agricultural College. Agencies were appointed for this purpose

In the first stage, the construction of two stations and the construction of a tunnel through the Musa river behind the civil courts were done. The official said the subway route will go through the river near the Dengle bridge, pass through Casper Pace and Paddish Hood and go through Bad Walpets.

According to the plan of MahaMetro, the majority of the underground construction is either built or passed under the highway. Therefore, the vertical axis is inserted into Agricultural College and Swargate, the tunnel boring machine (TBM) descends through the shaft and mining the main part of the route. When asked about possible damage to utilities, the authorities said they would follow the detailed project report (DPR) guidelines. "To avoid damage during construction, all utilities within the excavation area need to move early, although cross-connect facilities need to be supported," DPR said.

In April 2018, MahaMetro started construction in the Kharalwadi district and the Morwadi district of the elevated line between the PCMC building and Range Hills. For construction, obstacles in the newly constructed BRTS lane have been removed. MahaMetro argues that this is temporary and reveals that the plan to build a pillar on the sidewalk was canceled for a utility line running underground. However, PCMC tested the BRTS route in April 2018 and is scheduled to start service soon, so MahaMetro was ordered to stop construction. As a result, MahaMetro revised the route in May 2018 and started construction on-line one year later.

Line 3 continues from Pune's Civil Court to Hinjawadi's Megapolis Pune. The line of 23.3 km is fully upgraded, there are 23 stations, along the MahaMetro line of the civil court transfer station. The building is carried out in two stages, a section between Hinjawadie and Balewadi is first received, and it is expected that the part between Baleewady and Shivajinagar's civil court will follow. A subway carport will be built in Hinjewadi. MIDC offers 55 acres of land to Hinjewadi for the construction of the subway station. On August 3, 2018, PMRDA announced a joint venture with Tata Realty - Siemens, the final bidder of the project. If the final bid is approved by the state and central government, Tata Realty - Siemens will contract with the center to implement the project design, construction, finance, operation and transfer model. PMRDA is scheduled to begin work in October 2018.
