As a result of evaluating Alice Walker's short story "Daily Goods", I came to the conclusion that the narrator made the right choice and gave the daughter Maggie family a quilt. Dee (Wangero), her sister is also qualified to get a quilt, but in my opinion Maggie is more valuable. Throughout the story, the differences between the two daughters of the narrator are shown in different ways. Maggie was shy and a housewife, whereas older girl Dee (Wangelo) was well educated and treated. I agree with the narrator's decision for good faith in Maggie's quilt and her innocent behavior.
In this article we compare and contrast Alice Walker's "everyday use" with some of Junnot Diaz's Drown's relationships. Dee and Maggie are sisters of "everyday use". Dee is outgoing and ambitious, Maggie is shy and lazy. Maggie jealous of Dee, but she was afraid of her again. They are more like colleagues than brothers and sisters. In the story, they do not seem to communicate with each other frequently. As you can tell from the story, there is no relationship between them, perhaps due to the shame and embarrassment of Magee.
In Alice Walker 's story "Daily Youth", the plot is greatly influenced by the two daughters of the narrator, Maggie and Dee. They were sisters and grew up in the same environment, but Maggie and Dee are very different from each other; their thoughts and actions are obvious. In addition, their conflicting roles play a role as a symbol for communicating the overall theme of the story. From the beginning, the narrator revealed the difference between Maggie and Dee. Therefore, it is difficult to judge the similarity of both. But one similarity between the two daughters is that they all want their mothers to be proud of them. In addition, they are now hoping to appreciate their background and roots and stick to them. In addition to these similarities, it is difficult to find similarities between the two sisters. Clearly, not all sisters represent different sisters.
The similarity between Dee and Magee in "Daily Youth" is that they all love their mothers and are keen on quilts made by mothers, aunts and grandmothers. While her older sister Maggie is shy, not attractive, discreet and foolish, Dee is confident, charismatic, arrogant and smart, so these characters are almost similar in other similarities There is none. Because Dee and Maggie are each other's embarrassment, their personality is quite contrastive. Narrator pointed out Dee's confidence, especially as she was able to see the people's eyes. Meanwhile, Magee is nervous about the people including her sister and is nervous. Dee was always very attractive and fashionable, but Maggie was not.
