Lucy Mode Montgomery's famous Canadian novel "ANNE OF GREEN GABLES" author Lucy mode Montgomery was born on 30 November 1874 at Clifton, Prince Edward Island (now New London). At the age of two, the mother died of tuberculosis. Her father was a businessman, he remarried and moved. Montgomery was raised by her grandparents in Cavendish.
