This science fiction novel is about a boy, Jonas in an ideal society without fear of today's life. One day he was living a normal life until he was elected as a recipient of memory. There, he looked at the past, and pointed out the advantages and bad consequences of completion. The Giver of Louis Lowry uses a metaphorical society as a metaphor to show how people live without pain and lacks knowledge to inform readers that society is by no means perfect . "Experience provided by the provider can improve the level of inquiry and reflection on the reader." (Friedman and Cataldo pp 102-112) At first glance, the setting of the novel seems to be Utopia. . - Compassionate and dominated by Jonas Jonas community providers. Everything is the same: their clothes, houses, and life. People obey the rules until they die. They do not know anything about real life. Gift recipients who are recipients of memory are the only people who can enjoy real life. When Jonas is chosen as a recipient of memory from the community and meets the donor, his life will change.
