Love's Three Forms

The most wonderful thing you learn is resurrection of love and being loved (Moulin Rouge, Scene 1). When most people think about love, they think a young couple kisses, sexes, children, and even loving pets. Love is based on the Merriam-Webster dictionary, strong emotions, warm attachments, and loved ones (436). This definition is correct, but that is ambiguous, it does not refer to different types of love that are present. Most people do not know that there are three. What are these? They are unconditional love, romantic love, passion and desire.

Psychology expresses love as a cognitive and social phenomenon. Psychologist Robert Stamberg advocated a triangle of love and believe love has three different elements: intimacy, dedication, and passion. Intimacy is usually a form in which two people share the trust and details of their own life in friendship, romance, affection. On the other hand, it is a promise to expect this relationship to be permanent. The last form of love is sexual appeal and passion. Passionate love is obsessed and full of romantic love. All forms of love are considered different combinations of these three elements. Apart from love none of these elements are included. Just include intimacy. Crazy love includes passion only. Empty love contains only promises. Romantic love includes intimacy and passion. Love for partners includes intimacy and commitment. Foolish love contains passion and dedication

We usually like people who have a relationship with us, but we have different kinds of love for family, friends, and loved ones. Robert Sternberg (1986) suggests that love has three elements of intimacy, passion and dedication. These three elements form triangles that define multiple kinds of love. This is called Triangle Love Theory () of Sternberg. Intimacy is to share details and intimate ideas and emotions. Passion is a physical attraction - a flame in a flame. Commitment is to support this person - part of the relationship 'sickness and health'

In Sternberg's triangular love theory, these three elements can be combined with the eight form of love defined by their social function (Sternberg, 1986). Intimate relationships include connections, intimacy, intimacy in relationships. It can be seen mostly as an emotional investment of human relations. Passion as a component is a driving force that points to a more romantic love, which means body appeal and sexual activity, mainly dealing with awakening conditions. The passion here is the driving force of participation. The decision-making / commitment component, in turn, loves others, decides to keep this love and keep committing in a long-term relationship. This element deals with cognitive factors and decision-making in the possibility of love and romance (Sternberg, 1986)
