As I wrote in my homework list, Louis XIV and Peter the Great want to do wonderful things. They have many things in common and have many different goals. They are all dictators who believe that all decisions about the country they live in should be made by them. They all want to expand their country - not only when there are more lands but also want to build a strong army and enhance the country 's reputation.

Both Louis XIV and Peter the Great have achieved self-sufficiency in their countries as absolute monarchs by achieving economic and cultural success. Louis XIV uses tax incentives and government funds for increased production. Peter the Great is learning European customs - this is his goal. He expressed his reform and tried to 'westernize' Russia. Peter the Great has improved his education by setting up a voyage school. In addition, Peter Daio established his own port, St. Petersburg. This harbor is a convenient sea route to the west.
